“Trois vilains petits canards” starts like Hans Christian Andersen’s tale, in the morning mist of a beautiful summer’s day bathed in birdsong, murmured nursery rhymes, aquatic sighs and the laughter of children. The storm rumbles
and the exclusion mechanism is put in motion, one of the dancers rejected by the other two. But, in a way as banal as
in everyday life, a change of sides occurs which will jam the tale’s linearity. From then on a violent contamination
comes into play to have each of these “ugly ducklings” take the roles of victim and torturer.
The end of this choreographic tale? Reconciliation being as unjustifiable as violence, the three protagonists attempt
to take little steps towards peace together.
COPRODUCTION : Beau Geste – Résidence de creation at the Théâtre Louis Aragon, Approved Dance Stage of Tremblay-en-France (creation in residence).
